Get the records you need, prepared clearly.

Bilingual, non-lawyer clerical assistance for preparing and submitting immigration-records requests to the agency most likely to hold your file. Start from home, in English or Español.

Understand the agency, then prepare the request.

The Freedom of Information Act allows people to request copies of certain records held by federal agencies. Immigration records can include applications, petitions, notices, court materials, detention or removal records, border encounters, and other agency-maintained information.

CF Legal Document Preparation & Notary Services provides clerical help: we organize the information you provide, prepare the agency-specific request materials, and submit them using your authorization. We are not a law firm, and this service does not include legal advice or representation.

Five ways to request your records.

Questions before you begin.

A quick overview of agency scope, expectations, privacy, timing, and the intake process.

Which agencies can I request records from?

We can prepare a request for USCIS, ICE, EOIR, or CBP. If your history may span more than one agency, the complete package coordinates separate requests for all four; one request does not retrieve every record.

What does the clerical service do, and what does the agency control?

We organize the information you provide, prepare agency-specific request materials, and submit them with your authorization. The agency controls its search, processing, fees, and release decisions. We do not provide legal advice or representation.

How is my intake information and privacy handled?

The intake collects the details needed to prepare your request and uses the authorization you provide. Submitted personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

How long will the agency take to respond?

Agency timelines vary based on the agency, request scope, and processing volume. There is no guaranteed turnaround, and we cannot promise when records will be located, released, or decided.

What should I prepare for the intake?

Start with the FOIA intake. Prepare your contact details, identity and immigration history, the agency or records you want, and any requested authorization or supporting information. Review the details before you submit.

The agency controls the records process.

Agency processing times, searches, duplication fees, and release decisions remain with the agency. We do not guarantee that an agency will locate, release, or provide every requested document, and we do not represent that a package retrieves every government record.

CF Legal Document Preparation & Notary Services is not a law firm and cannot provide legal advice or legal representation. For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney. See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled.
